Nick Cave.

I LOVE NICK CAVE. So much. Especially Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, I've listened to Abbatoir Blues and The Lyre Of Orpheus so many times. Over and over again. His voice is just AMAZING. His lyrics are magic and beauty. He's a poet and a great singer. That's all i can say about him and his music. Fact.

SNOW.

When i woke up this morning and looked out of my window, every rooftop was white. YESSS i really love snow, i wanted to go outside immediately and have a snowfight.
Todat i met up for some drinks with my friend Manella, also known as 'Coockie'. It was really good to see her again, it had been a while since we last did. We had some drinks at De Balie and had alot of fun. After that we went to h&m to try some clothes on. SO many beautiful items! god. Why now when i don't have money?
I made some pictures of us in the dressingroom, and some pictures of the snowflakes outside when i biked home. Unfortunately my camera cable isn't working right now, very annoying.
I really hope that it will continue to snow, and that it will be a snowy christmas this year. it's been ages since it last snowed during christmas!

Christmas

I can't believe it's almost christmas time again.. time goes by so incredibly fast. It's almost 2010 (!!) it's so nearby, yet it sounds so far away. It sounds like a whole different time. Like the jetsons. I would be pretty content thinking i'd fly to school from now on. Anyway, i've got a new photography assignment. It's the best one ever! My teacher gave me two discs with short movie clips, and i had to pick one, and inspired by that one movie i'll have to make a picture. The same vibe, atmosphere, colours, feeling and such. It was so hard for me to pick one, because it turned out my teacher has a pretty good taste in movies. I decided i'm going for Edward Scissorhands! I love that movie and i absolutely admire Tim Burton. I'm so happy there are people like him in this world, inspiring me to do the things i really want to do. I wish i could even draw a LITTLE bit like him. anyway, these are the three movies i couldn't pick one out of before.

I think all three of these movies are incredible. I've never seen whole of a clockwork orange though, i will do that soon. Anyway, I can't wait to start on this assignment. It's something that really inspires me. I hope i can do it the way i want to aswell, seen the fact i can't photoshop yet.. I've got a couple of ideas for my Edward Scissorhands pictures already.

By the way, speaking of Tim Burton; I've been waiting for his new movie to come out: Alice In Wonderland! You can see it's gonna be wonderful. It's gonna come out somewhere in 2010, it says in march but i guess it's going to be summer 2010 then here in Amsterdam. Can't wait!

Relief.

I'm relieved about alot of things. Alot of poison out of my life, focusing on important things.
I'm so happy when i'm making pictures. It's like i gained a third eye and it won't let loose.

The Maccabees at Club Desmet. It was such an amazing gig.





I really enjoy photographing during concerts. The best thing is to capture the moments where the musician(s)are really into the moment and into their music.
About a month ago i've seen St. Vincent and Grizzly Bear. Both were incredibly good, it was everything i thought it'd be. Can't stop listening to it now.




St. Vincent

That was a while ago. Two weeks ago my friend Dominique threw a houseparty, because she had just moved in with her two sisters. I had alot of fun with my friends! Here are some pictures my friend Fanny took.

Life.

God, i'm so tired now. After trying out tons of jobs, i finally found one i really like. Coffee Company, not phenomenal but it's nice. At waterlooplein, a really nice fleamarket here in amsterdam.. It's right across the street from my old job, kind of funny. First day today, met my new co-workers and boss, signed some papers and started work. My shift was supposed to be from 10:30 untill 16:30, but someone couldn't work so i had to stay longer... that's when i realized it's been so long since i did last actually work really hard. It's a good thing, to make money. Being poor isn't the best thing, i couldn't even go out properly because i had no money the last two months.
I can say i'm a very satisfied person at the moment. School's going really well too. I'm SO happy i finally found something that's kept my attention for a longer time: photography. I'm just starting, need to learn alot but i can't wait to absorb all of it. The best way to learn is to practise. And i will! Plus, i'm gonna save up some money each month for a trip to New York City with Julien! I've always wanted to go there, never been there. It seems like such an inspiring, creative, energetic city. I'll have to save up quite alot though. I've never travelled outside of Europe. I want to see the world, and alot of it! One of my biggest dreams is to make a trip around the world one day.
New York, Tokyo and Cape Town are top of my list.
